it's a new year!

Work selfies. They're the greatest. 

Wow, I honestly thought for a while 2014 would never get here! How crazy! I don't have any resolutions per say, but I do have some goals for sure.

 Make some serious progress in school. I am literally swimming going nowhere. I mean, I have a general idea but I'd really love to have a definitive career path lined up. For heavens sakes, I'll be applying to vet school in a year. I should probably figure out my life.

Be more organized. That means cleaning out my truck regularly, saving all my receipts for things, and tracking my spending more closely. Man, I feel like a responsible adult or something. 

Take more risks and have more fun. I am so excited for this year... I'll be 20 this year and so I want to do fun things! I'm kind of over playing it safe. 

Save some money. Mostly because I'd like to have an emergency fund that's bigger than $50 at any point in time. Also, having a nice little nest egg is always a good idea. 

other updates: Brandon and I are doing great as usual. He came and stayed with my family for a few days over winter break and seeing how well he meshed with them was seriously awesome. I sure do love that man. This year is going to be a seriously tell tale year for us. Lots of exciting things on the horizon! We got a new roommate in our apartment and she actually looks like a lot of fun, I'm pretty excited to get to know her. In general, things are going amazingly. I am so happy with the upward turn my life has taken, and the wait for it was so worth it.

la vie est belle, indeed. 

i'm grateful for an awful lot today.

-days & moods that are turned around from the simplest things.

-handwritten letters from missionaries. they are so inspired.

-genuine compliments from people.

-best friends who aren't afraid to tell me how it is, and then help me fix it.

-really big diet cokes. 

-clean sheets and a made bed.

-self confidence. 

-tickets to general conference with clara in two weeks. 

-old friends that call to catch up.

-80's & 90's country music. seriously. if there was ever such a thing as feel good music, this is it.

-boys who understand that sometimes you just need a super huge hug.

-the weather being warm enough to open windows

-payday.

-march is almost over.

-when something just clicks & you understand why things have been happening the way they have.

-my new mixtape >>> (honestly. so much can be said with a well thought out mixtape. burn a cd and i promise we'll be friends forever.)

-patriarchal blessings.

-parents who help me see the big picture but also leave my life up to me.

so. as you can see. my life is really amazing.

flashback friday.

do you ever get in those moods where all you want to do is look at old pictures and listen to old music? cause i do, and usually it makes me feel better & helps me remember my life is actually pretty damn awesome and that i should probably quit complaining so much.

today.

if you look in the trash can at work, all you're gonna see is baling twine and probably 300 cans of mountain dew. i don't know what it is with all these guys being so obsessed with it. to be honest, i cant really handle it. it makes me go super insane. haha.

i love going on walks. at least when it's nice-ish. when it's freezing cold outside, not so much. but today was seriously beautiful & i couldn't resist going on a long walk around campus. and i didn't even wear shoes. whaaaaaa. i know summer is just around the corner when i can walk around barefoot without my feet freezing. 

the gutter at work broke. and not only did it break, it's broken until tuesday. and guess who works every stinkin day until then? me. ughhh. there's probably nothing that makes me more pissed than having to haul out all that shit by hand. but, talking to the old farmers after work about it was stinkin hilarious. according to them, the gutter system was supposed to be the "next new thing" in tie stall technology but  i quote: "that thing is bigger shit than the stuff that's supposed to go in it!" i laughed so hard.

at the equine center i had an interesting experience with a mare not-so-fondly named "man-eater" today. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. seriously. she's awful. i have never been so terrified while cleaning a stall. but on the bright side, the foals are so cute. they're at that age where their personalities are showing and they just want to play with you and they are about too cute to handle.

life is good.
